Stress test is done to determine how well your heart respond to the exercise and to rule out any complication in the blood flow under stress, or to determine coronary heart disease, heart valves functioning or to identify abnormal heart rhythms.

What you can expect
This test will be done in the designed room. This exam will be performed by a trained technician or by a doctor. You will be asked to walk on a treadmill and the intensity will increase as you go. Your heart rate, electrocardiogram, and blood pressure will be recorded through out the test. You will be asked to tell if you feel any symptoms like shortness of breath, dizziness, lightheaded, or any other unusual symptoms throughout the test.
Preparation for consultation
- Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes on the test day.
- If you don’t speak English, please bring someone to translate for you or let the receptionist know ahead of your test; we will arrange one for you.
- Bring the list of medication with you on the exam day.
- Do not drink anything expect water 4 hours prior to the exam.
- Do not drink any caffeinated drinks 12 hours prior to the exam.
- Children will not be allowed in the exam room.
